Notre Dame School is a Catholic Institution managed by Bangalore Notre Dame Sisters’ Society. Therefore, all the decisions of the Governing Body find their source in Christian Philosophy and Theology.

Generations of Excellence
Notre Dame School traces its origin to the spiritual mother of the sisters
of Notre Dame, St. Julie Billiart who founded the congregation of the sisters of
Notre Dame de Namur, Belgium in 1804. Her charismatic spirit of finding God’s
goodness in everything was handed over to Sister Maria Aloysia Wolbring, who
founded Cosfeld branch of the congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame in
Germany in 1850.The sisters of Notre Dame in India trace back our origins to
the Cosfeld branch.
Inspired by the charism of St. Julie Billiart and Sr. Maria Aloysia, Notre
Dame has established foundations in many parts of the world and witness to
God’s love. Sisters are actively involved in educational, social and medical
services in Germany, Italy, England, Holland, United States, Indonesia, India,
Korea, Papua New Guinea, Africa and Philippines.
The first Notre Dame School in India was founded in Jamalpur, Bihar in
1950. In Idichakkaplamoodu, Kerala, Notre Dame School was founded in June
2001.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP
The Student Council
The student council has been established to assist the principal and the staff in the smooth running of the school. The council consists of the Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, House Captains, the vice captains and the class prefects. These office bearers play a vital role in maintaining discipline and order in the school. All students are expected to respect their roles and cooperate with them.

Each house, under its captains and vice captains, tries to live up to their motto. The house system helps in cultivating team spirit, cooperation and healthy competition among the students.
